Greetings! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Jenn. I am a 30-something-year-old lover of books. Even though I’m a bit of a Science-Nerd, my formal education is in Biochemistry, I have always had a strong affection for the written word. I especially enjoy early 20th Century English Literature. My favorite authors from the era include: H.G. Wells, Henry James, Virginia Woolf, and Jack London.
I believe my love of reading comes from mother. While growing up I can hardly remember a time when she did not have a book in her hands. Books were always something she encouraged and never limited. Unlike movies, which can sometimes contain disturbing images for young children, non-picture books were never censored in our home. This household rule allowed me to experience great writers such as, Stephen King, early on.
I also would like to attribute my reading habits to my 5th grade English teacher, Mrs. Linton. Mrs. Linton opened my eyes to a whole other word outside of Modern Pop-Fiction. Because of her guidance, I read my first James Joyce at just 12 years old.
Currently I read from many different genres, my favorites being Crime Fiction, Thrillers, Mystery, and Horror. I branch out often to include Chick-Lit, Contemporary Literature, and Modern Fiction. I enjoy discovering new authors, and am always open to reading a hidden gem. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to send me message.
My other hobbies include: writing, journaling, crocheting, gardening, photography, and music. Currently I reside in a small suburb of Kansas City with my husband, daughter, and two fur babies.
